I always want to be a better blogger. I love the folks who have great blogs with pictures and interesting things to say about their creative lives. But a lot of the time I feel like my life is just not that interesting really. Right now it's 100F degrees most days, so I hide out in my air conditioned house painting in between referring arguments between my two bored kids who are on summer break from school. This week my oldest is off at camp, so now it's more me trying to keep my 6 year old out of trouble and entertained long enough to get things done. Which is why I'm just now blogging after midnight, while waiting to make sure my husband gets up for work in an hour.
Last week I had emergency oral surgery to repair damage done when I ran into a door two weeks ago face first in the dark. I cut my head open, broke a tooth, and gave myself a nice concussion. Fabulous! haha I've had dental issues for a while, but I kept putting off doing this. So now it's a few weeks of trying to get things to heal up properly while my dentist makes me a new set of upper teeth to replace the ones that were removed. A friend of mine also passed away last week, so it was a pretty stressful time. Loosing someone is never easy. But it's always a reminder to love on people while you have the chance.
Often times when I'm stressed out or dealing with things I make art even if it's just for myself to help relieve some of the tension. I worked on the painting above last week for a class I'm taking. It was a fun way to work out some of the stress of all the teeth issues. I finished off a special painting for a friend today. And I'm hoping to start a new collection to put in my etsy shop.
Thank you to everyone who purchased a painting recently! I was shocked by the great response to my recent work and the support helped me to be able to put a down payment for my oral surgery which I couldn't have afforded otherwise. The continued encouragement and support is always so helpful and hugely appreciated!
